One Too Many Mornings
(feature film)
One Too Many Mornings was shot for very little money on nights and weekends over the course of two years. The actors and I co-wrote the script based on our own personal experiences and filmed it in the lead actor's apartment/church.
PRESS:
“I laughed out loud A LOT at this movie, and since it was #29 on my last day of the festival, that’s saying something.”
— USA Today
“It’s lo-fi funny, a mumblecore Swingers, with a refreshingly clear sense of what it is. [The] protagonists are a wuss and an asshole, but the script lets them be more than that.”
— John August (screenwriter of Big Fish, Go, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)
“Feels like a collaboration between Judd Apatow and Jim Jarmusch, blending the former’s mastery of slacker silliness and the latter’s offbeat, understated mood and sumptuous black-and-white cinematography.”
— Nashville Scene
“The film is not only very funny, but visually interesting at every turn. It is tightly paced, well-edited and moves incredibly well from emotional moment to funny moment to funny moment to funny moment to emotional moment. Michael Mohan shows a steady hand out of the gate.”
— Film School Rejects
“Films of this caliber regularly have an air of cheap unprofessionalism about them, yet here, the filmmaker uses the resources available to create a rich textured and beautifully heartfelt tale of two friends trying to figure out their futures as they dissect their pasts.”
— Gordon and the Whale
